Stones of Judgment

by Guy C. LaMar

THERE ARE two utterly unpleasant judgmental ladies in a church that has inspired me to write this article.

This is in reference to their UN-CHRISTIAN assessment of two of God's long-time servants.

As I did this study on the topic of God's servants, I also had to repent after a better reflection of how off I have been in the past towards various servants of God.

Each servant of God has their part to do, in their manner of doing their service for God and I have no right to judge that manner.

People in some church settings will be rather petty towards other people for the simplest reasons - such as by how someone may smell or how someone may dress.

Neither of which is a salvation matter.

I asked myself why, as Christians, don't we just focus on our own self and not be concerned with what someone else is like in the manner of appearance.

We need to focus on that of which we are able to help, and that is our own selves.

We do NOT need to be a busy body with judgments and bellyaching about how so and so is dressed or how they may smell.

A skunk is a pretty creature but its smell isn't pleasant is all. Regardless it's still a fantastic creature made by the handy work of God to observe.

So many Church people are petty about how someone appears at church.

For man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart. - 1 Samuel 16:7.

Their dress code is NOT a salvation matter.

Judging others who God is using is something I have been guilty of and will work for the rest of my life to fix.

In fact, I have found myself praising God for allowing the many various methods used by the variety of servants that God has allowed us.

Some are colorful and loud who attract various types, there are those who are low key that attracts others, there are those who are very strict in stiff that attract others.

Each has a manner to attract various types.

We have to remember that God the Father does the calling to the REAL Jesus and it is His servants who are the instruments that He uses to do that calling.

It's the servants of God who are to be a light to the world.

Our Example (our manner) is what brings in folks - or disconnects folks.

So we must work on measuring up to the example of JESUS.

Through Jesus, we can know the Father. We are told to strive to be perfect as the Father is perfect. (Matt. 5:48).

To be a TRUE Christian we MUST do away with our own selves and embrace the will (manner) of Jesus. We can't take our worldly biases and entwine them with our Christian manner otherwise we are not a true Christian.

I've said it MANY times, we MUST look to Jesus on how we are supposed to be as a people.

Without Jesus, no one is going to be in the Kingdom.

Jesus will be our ultimate judge and He has let us know that by what measure of how judge others is the exact same measure that He will judge us.

So, we had better be forgiving and far more loving.

The FOOLISH people that mock others, that spew hatred with their words and thoughts towards people that may have hurt their feelings had better regroup and realize Jesus forgave the very people that murdered and mocked Him.

He forgave His friends that betrayed Him.

When someone can see Christ in you then you know, yourself, that you are doing the right thing.

To be labeled a "man of God" or to have someone say to you they "see Jesus Christ in you." That is the greatest joy a servant of God can receive.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. - Matthew 5:9.

If a servant of God is TRYING to bring peace to God's people then we had better be exceedingly thankful towards that servant.

Otherwise such would be of Satan the Devil.

The Bible teaches us that we do not speak against God’s servants.

It is as speaking against God and God’s anger will be kindled against those who do such things.

Why then were you not afraid to speak against my servant Moses? And the anger of the LORD was kindled against them. - Numbers 12:8-9.

A servant of God is just a servant doing the will of His master. He is a vessel being used.

Speaking against a servant of God is as speaking directly against God.

It can be considered as blaspheming in the same manner as speaking against the God that folks claim to praise and worship.

God punishes people severely for speaking against Him and by speaking against His servants.

In the Bible, we see some examples with lessons to learn.
1. Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses.
Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married and the anger of the Lord was kindled against them. Miriam became leprous, as white as snow.

Num 12:1-2: And Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married: for he had married an Ethiopian woman. And they said, ‘has the LORD indeed spoken only by Moses? Has he not spoken also by us?’ And the LORD heard it.

For speaking against God’s servant Moses, God called Miriam and Aaron out to meet them.

Num. 12:4-5: And the LORD spoke suddenly unto Moses, and unto Aaron, and unto Miriam, ‘Come out you three unto the tabernacle of the congregation’. And they three came out.

And God said -

‘If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream. My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house. With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the LORD shall he behold: why then were you not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?’ (Num. 12:6-8).

And the anger of the Lord was kindled against them.

Num. 12:9: And the anger of the LORD was kindled against them; and he departed.

Miriam became leprous.

Num. 12:10: And the cloud departed from off the tabernacle; and, behold, Miriam became leprous, white as snow: and Aaron looked upon Miriam, and, behold, she was leprous.
2. Korah against Moses.
Korah gathered some children of Israel against Moses.

Num. 16:1-2: Now Korah, the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, and Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, and On, the son of Peleth, sons of Reuben, took men. And they rose up before Moses, with certain of the children of Israel, two hundred and fifty princes of the assembly, famous in the congregation, men of renown.

And they said to Moses –

‘You take too much upon you, seeing the entire congregation is holy, every one of them, and the LORD is among them: why then do you exalt yourself above the congregation of the LORD?’ (Num. 16:3).

‘Is it a small thing that you have brought us up out of a land that flows with milk and honey, to kill us in the wilderness, that you should keep acting like a prince over us? Moreover you have not brought us into a land that flows with milk and honey, or given us inheritance of fields and vineyards: will you put out the eyes of these men? We will not come up’ (Num. 16:13-14).

And God said to Moses –

Num. 16:21-24: Separate yourselves from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment. Speak unto the congregation saying,’ Get away from about the tabernacle of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram’.

Many are perishing because of Korah’s rebellion which is speaking against the servants of God.

Jude 1:11: Woe unto them! For they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the rebellion of Korah.

Woe to you for opening your mouth against a servant of God.

Why do you not fear God?

Why do you not fear speaking against a servant of God?

Why then were you not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?’ (Num. 12:6-8).

For speaking against Moses, God’s anger was kindled against Korah and his company and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up into the pit.

Num. 16:31-33: And it came to pass, as he had made an end of speaking all these words that the ground split apart under them. And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their houses, and all the men with Korah, and all their goods. They, and all that appertained to them, went down alive into the pit, and the earth closed upon them: and they perished from among the congregation.

And all Israel feared God and feared speaking against His servant Moses.

Num. 16:34: And all Israel that were round about them fled at the cry of them: for they said, ‘Lest the earth swallow us up also’.

An employee does what her/his employer instructs. A servant does what his/her master instructs. A servant of God does the will of God.

A God’s servant is a servant of God to do God’s will, not humanity's will.

People have a harsh knack for judging God's servants because of their petty differences.
3. Children of Israel speaking against Moses.
The children of Israel spoke against God and against Moses.

Num. 21:5: And the people spoke against God and against Moses; ‘Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loathes this worthless bread’.

And God’s anger was kindled against them. He sent fiery serpents to bite them and many of the children of Israel died.

Num. 21:6: And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and many people of Israel died.
4. Youths speaking against Elisha.
Youths mocked Elisha. Mocking is speaking against.

2 Kings 2:23: And he went up from there unto Bethel: and as he was going up by the way, there came youths out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, ‘Go up, you baldhead; go up, you baldhead’.

Two female bears came out of the woods and mauled 42 of the youths.

2 Kings 2:24: And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the LORD. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and mauled forty and two of the youths.

Do Not Speak Against God’s Servants: – God’s Anger will be Kindle Against those Speaking against a servant of God as if they are speaking against God Himself and blaspheming the same God that they claim to praise and worship.

It is a sin.

People want things THEIR way instead of how the servant of God is doing things.

They want things done according to the way their mostly carnal minds think.

Remember God's servants have a DOUBLE PORTION of God's Spirit leading them.

They are required DOUBLE HONOR. They have the Holy Spirit guiding them in order to lead and help others.

Instead of speaking against a God servant, we should encourage and help him. He is at the forefront of spiritual battle for his congregation.

By helping a servant of God we will see our self-winning battles. Aaron and Hur knew this principle.

It does NOT matter if we agree or disagree with that servant of God. He is in a position that God will judge him more harshly. He doesn't need human petty judgments on him to add to the pressure that he is under.

Aaron and Hur noticed that when Moses’ arms were up while directing a battle, Israel had the victory over their enemy and when they were down, Israel was defeated. Aaron and Hur made sure that Moses' arms were held high so that they would get the victory. They physically held up God’s servant's arms.

We should metaphorically hold up a servant of God's hands; helping and encouraging him and in doing so we will win battles of life.

Honoring a servant of God is as honoring God Himself. We as true Christian people need to wake up and realize this.

We NEED to lift up God’s servants' arms, do not force them down!

If we have spoken against a servant of God no matter if they are alive or dead, no matter if we agree with or disagree with their tactics of serving we had better repent while we still have life in us to recognize this huge mistake!

Remember to repent is to turn away from something and NEVER do it again!

By repenting and embracing the blessings of what God has given to us we will see things change in our lives because God will forgive us, He will release His wrath upon us IF don't we humbly repent.

Many things are going wrong in the life of many people today because they spoke against a servant of God and God’s wrath has been kindled against them.

They wonder why this and that is wrong in their life.

They NEED to wake up to the WRONGS that they have embraced of speaking against God's anointed.

They NEED TO Repent!

God will forgive us.

But DO NOT -- I repeat do NOT -- allow human (mostly carnal) reasoning to assess a reason to speak against God's servants.

From today on AFTER we repent of this bad deed, we need to encourage, help, hold high the hands of a God servant, and then we will start to win battles in life.

Not all are servants of God; not all are servants of ‘I AM’. There is a brood of vipers out there; a brood of Satan.

We should not open our mouths against any person claiming to serve God without knowing the spirit powering the person; without knowing who the servant is serving (the master of the servant).

Many people have spoken against God's servants through the years.

When we speak against those servants, We are speaking against their Master (Jesus Christ).

A lot of people's health issues and such are brought on by how people speak against God's servants.

They have chosen to be partakers in the spirit of Satan the Devil by gossiping and character assassination, by the measure of their self-righteous look towards others.

In doing so they have issued the wrath of God to kindled against them for speaking against God's chosen anointed servants.

No matter what the method the servant of God partakes in that doesn't sit well with us we should NEVER EVER criticize their methods otherwise we are setting up ourselves for a great fall.

God has used many people in many ways through the centuries. Some have gimmicks that stand out that attract people to them. Some may seem dull and boring but for some people they still attract. Some may be very loud and theatrics in their manner.

There are MANY various types of God's servants and each deserves our DOUBLE honor because they are doing what God's given them a job to do.

We as a people NEED to focus on our own selves and stop being so petty in JUDGING others and covering up that judgment with reasons for saying things against God's servants.

Some servants have a certain portion of understanding on things that others don't.

Respect what they are trying to do with what amount of capabilities that they have to do with.

And if we have then we MUST Repent and know that the kingdom of God is at hand!

If we find ourselves making excuses to speak against a servant of God such as by saying, "I know the bible and he doesn't fit the description of a servant of God."

Then know this - Paul had once killed Christians and was probably the closest to Christ of the servants of Jesus.

The Devil knows the Bible backward and forward. So it's no big thing if the servants of the Devil, that do actually speak against God's servants, may know the Bible backward and forward also.

By their speaking against God's servants, they have announced that they are working for the Devil instead of God.

People's lame excuses of saying things negatively against God's servants won't wash with God.

In closing, we should not EVER speak against God’s servants. If we have we NEED to repent of this and NEVER do it again.

Those servants are doing their part in the way that they know to do. No matter who agrees or disagrees.

God's people lift up the Saint of God, NOT tear down the Saints of God. □
