Friends, our Lord Jesus said, "...' For judgment, I have come into this world, that those who do not see may see ...'" So that those who have not been able to understand may understand. So many people say, "Well, I just can't understand the Bible!" Well, the carnal mind without God's Spirit is hostile to righteousness, because that's the LAW and the WAY of Almighty God! And, the carnal mind without God's Spirit is enmity AGAINST God, and cannot be obedient to God at all (Romans 8:7). So, the carnal mind devoid of God's Spirit cannot understand the spiritual things.
Your carnal mind without His Spirit can understand knowledge only through the five senses - sight, taste, smell, and hearing, and touch. And one cannot conceive spirit by any one of those processes whatsoever. Spirit MUST be revealed - spiritual TRUTH, spiritual KNOWLEDGE.
And, Jesus Christ came that we might know TRUTH! He said, "'And you shall know the TRUTH, and the TRUTH shall make you free.'" We must REPENT (which means change), that we might, through Him, be reconciled to God the Father and receive the glorious Spirit of God to enlighten our minds that we can begin to see the light - of that which we could not see before.
