Letter to our Friends - August 13, 2019

Dear Friends:

Greetings again from Owensboro, Kentucky.

We are continuing to work on many aspects of Matthew 28:19-20 and Romans 11:25 – to ‘feed’ the sheep of Christ as well as the potential sheep of Christ.

Owensboro Ordination


It is most wonderful news of the recent ordination August 10th, 2019 of Leonard V. Johnson as a minister in God’s Church! I am very pleased to announce this as Mr. Johnson is indeed dedicated to Almighty God and Jesus Christ and has been proclaiming and teaching the living Word of God, the Truth of God, and the Plan of God for the past 6 years. He will continue to dedicate his life and experience and background to his office. We are pleased to have him “on board” here at the Owensboro Church of Jesus Christ. Congratulations, Mr. Johnson!

A little about Mr. Johnson: He was born on November 19th, 1969 in Salem, Oregon, and was baptized February 13th, 2013. 

"I’ve never considered myself anything other than a Christian – a servant and follower of Christ Jesus. I’ve briefly studied Catholicism and Mormonism, but only in relation to my studies having to do with the WCG and the living Word of God. I would often ride my bicycle in my youth many miles into town to the local library and study subjects such as Christmas, Easter, St. Valentine’s day, and the history of the Church of God to 'prove' GOD’S Word. In 1982 I had become interested in receiving the Ambassador Bible Correspondence Course from the WCG. After completing the course and speaking with my father and the associate pastor of the WCG, I began attending with my grandmother (who was a long-time member) at a little congregation in Albany, Oregon. I was subsequently thrown out of the WCG in 1985 for quitting high school - September 24, 2013, I received my G.E.D. I often say that GOD saved me and bruised me at the same time (a reference to His Word: “A bruised reed He will not break, and a smoldering wick He will not snuff out” (Isaiah 42:3)) for being thrown-out of the WCG, because after the death of that organization's leader - Herbert Armstrong - in 1986, the new leaders of the WCG began to make changes to doctrines and practices, while claiming that they were doing nothing other than “being transformed by truth.”

“I will even appoint terror over you!”

God WARNS:

“…’ There shall be terror within …’” – Deuteronomy 32:25.

Friends, there is terror within the United States of America!

Those angry loner white boys with guns, this time in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio, have again erupted on the body politic.
And those with eyes to see are reminded that the American culture is ill.
But what of the mass shootings in Chicago, the 55 people shot over the weekend, with seven hit near a park and then eight more not far away?
You might think these are “mass shootings” too, but, in political/media terms, they’re not treated as such. The victims, and in all likelihood the shooters, are black. …
There had already been tens of millions of legal abortions serving as grim building blocks of an American death cult.

Violence in America is growing exponentially!

These mass shootings, along with ‘legal’ murder (abortions) bring the following Scripture to mind:

“For your hands are defiled with blood, And your fingers with iniquity; Your lips have spoken lies, Your tongue has muttered perversity. 4) No one calls for justice, Nor does any plead for truth. They trust in empty words [in vanity] and speak lies; They conceive evil and bring forth iniquity. 5) They hatch vipers’ eggs and weave the spider’s web; He who eats of their eggs dies, And from that which is crushed a viper breaks out. 6) Their webs will not become garments, Nor will they cover themselves with their works; Their works are works of iniquity, And acts of violence is in their hands. 7) Their feet run to evil, And they make haste to shed innocent blood; Their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; Wasting and destruction are in their paths. 8) The way of peace they have not known, And there is no justice [judgment] in their ways; They have made themselves crooked paths; Whoever takes that way shall not know peace” – Isaiah 59:3-8.

The ever-increasing violence within the United States of America does indeed show a grave problem with America!

Notice this from Minister Michael C. Garrett:
“Now, I ran across a Scripture last night. I have read this Book multiple times – I’ve read this chapter multiple times, and I cannot for the life of me believe that I’ve never saw this word before! … Leviticus 26. verse 14 He says, “’ But IF you do not obey Me, and do not observe all these commandments, 15) and IF you despise My statutes, or IF your soul abhors My judgments, so that you do not perform all My commandments, but break My covenant, 16) I also will do this to you: …’” – notice the first thing He says. The first thing, the FIRST CURSE – “…’ I will even appoint TERROR over you, …’” Have you ever seen that before!? It’s been in my Bible ever since I’ve owned this particular Bible and all the other Bible’s I’ve ever owned, and yet I never saw that word before! And yet, right from the Word of God, ‘IF you don’t obey Me TERROR will come to your land!’ Now, think about all the terror which has come to our land here the last few years! Beginning with 9/11, and then all the other events …”

Consider that grave warning with this:

Panic ensued Tuesday night in Times Square after a backfiring motorcycle was mistaken for a possible mass shooting, according to CBS News, which reported that the bike was traveling with a large group of motorcycles at the time.
..in the wake of the recent mass shootings in El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio, chaos ensued as people raced to escape what they thought could be an active shooter carrying out another attack. Some witnesses called it a stampede.
CBS New York said people were literally running out of their shoes, dropping their bags, jumping over counters, even trampling those who couldn’t keep up. Lots of children were crying. –CBS News
“There were shoes everywhere,” one man told CBS New York, while a woman said she was “praying this wasn’t the end.”

A great many people are running when no one is pursuing them – Leviticus 26:17. Biblical prophecies are being confirmed! Ever-more terror is coming!

In last week’s letter, I had mentioned, that we have noticed that a great many professing Christians are having problems with many social media platforms shutting down their channels or making it extremely difficult for them. Consider – we believe in the glorious hope of the return of Jesus Christ and the Millennial reign of God’s Kingdom on earth, that is now considered “an extremist view.” Also, consider that believing that this world is being deceived into believing and accepting an ecumenical and interfaith religion is called a “conspiracy theory.” Consider too that accepting God’s standards – as stated within His ‘instruction manual’ the Holy Bible – of sexual morality is called extremism and knowing and teaching that the LGBTQIA agenda will not end well – cf. Romans 1:18-32 – is considered now “hate speech.” A “famine of the Word” of the Eternal is indeed coming – Amos 8:11-12. And what governments consider “hate speech” and “conspiracy theories” and the banning of such will lead to this prophesied ‘famine.’

World News Items

Mass shootings and other physical violence was not only in the news – the United States imposed what is being called “a full economic embargo” against Venezuela as well as more tariff’s on even more Chinese goods (See: ‘Trump Imposes Total Economic Embargo On Venezuela’ as well as ‘Trump's trade war with China is starting to get out of hand’).



The European Union and the United Kingdom are not agreeing on Brexit. The UK is trying to negotiate a major trade deal with the United States of America, while surely the EU will direct a major blow to the UK because of the Brexit (See: ‘The only way to stop the catastrophe of a no-deal Brexit? Revoke article 50’).

Have you heard that July of 2019 has been proclaimed ‘all-time temperature records’ ever (See: ‘113 degrees in France: why Europe is so vulnerable to extreme heat’). Like the universal truth that for every effect there is a definite cause, without repentance there is a definite wrath from God. The Bible shows that even worse heat is prophesied to strike the earth – cf. Revelation 16:8-9. These SEVEN LAST PLAGUES ARE EQUIVALENT TO THE DAY OF THE LORD. Concluding Comments

Again, consider this from Mr. Garrett:
“James chapter 3 – we’ve read it before, but, can you read this too much!? Can you hear this too often!? And, by the way, we live our lives, I think the answer to that is, “No, we probably need to hear it some more!” Verse 1 – “My brethren, let not many of you become teachers [or masters], knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment.” – and one of the problems of the history of the WCG and its descendants have been individuals who want to rise up within the congregation and crave to be ‘up in front’! And here, James says, ‘Don’t crave it!’ Because those people who are picked for that job face a more stern judgment. You’re just walking into a beehive – in one sense. … 12) Can a fig tree, my brethren, bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Thus no spring yields both saltwater and fresh.” – the two can’t exist. Verse 13 – “Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him [or her] show by good conduct that his [or her] works are done in meekness of wisdom.” And then he says, Verse 14 – “But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. 15) This wisdom [the wisdom of envy, strife, and hatred] does not descend from above, but is earthly [of the human senses or human nature] …” – and it is of the devil – Satan the devil – the accuser of the brethren we are told in the Book of Revelation. Verse 16 – “For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. 17) But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. 18) Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.” - an awful lot there to think about.”
Friends, let us always grow in the Spirit – of love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
