Be You Kind - Part 1 (Sermon)

The Owensboro Church of Jesus Christ is pleased to announce our latest sermon on our YouTube channel:

1:28:45

The Apostle Paul, in Ephesians 4:32, said, "And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you."

"And I think about people who I once knew who were members of the Work of God at Ambassador College, fellow students, and now I hear about them and some of them are just filled with – just like a leaf that’s turned to brown and dust, it’s just a shadow of what it once was. And how there are websites that are just so evil, just so demented in their outlook upon other people and churches and – just full of hatred! I ask, “Who’s behind those websites!? Is that God speaking, or is that Satan the devil!?” That’s Satan’s spirit – the spirit of revenge and hatred, accusation. And those people have just shriveled up to nothing inside. I fear that they, to a degree, might have ‘grieved the Holy Spirit of God’ right out of them. He said, because you’ve been called, you’ve been “sealed for the day of redemption.” – the day when you are changed from mortal into immortality! And think about the times we’ve been told – if you are not willing to extend mercy, mercy will not be shown to you! If you are not willing to forgive, forgiveness will not be extended to you by God. It’s said over and over, just plain as can be! And yet, there are people who – in their little twisted minds – just, “I will not forget! I will not forgive!” And they do so to the cursing of their own lives. It’s really an important subject. ‘Be you kind to one another.’ I’ve always been deeply impressed and deeply moved by acts of kindness. And I’ve always been disturbed, troubled, and often deeply wounded by acts of unkindness." - Michael C. Garrett

The Treasure of Your HeartWell, when I arrived on the campus of Ambassador College in Pasadena, back in the Fall of 1969, and for four years I heard Mr. Herbert W. Armstrong speak many times, in sermons, Bible studies, in the classroom, at forums and assemblies. And there are two statements which were constant refrains of Mr. Armstrong. And they still echo through my mind and memory after all of these years and decades. And one of them – that he said over and over – “Do the Work!” ...
His Mercy Endures Forever!Well, there’s one state of mind, or an experience, that I deeply ponder, I deeply appreciate. It’s the act of receiving mercy and the act of bestowing mercy. ...
The Confusion About Death - Part IIWe reviewed what Jesus said in John chapter 3, verse 13. This is just three verses before the beloved John 3:16. ‘That God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son.’ And again, beautiful statement, I fully accept it and encompass it. ...
