And That Rock Was Christ - Part One (Sermon)

The Split Rock of Horeb

If you would, turn to the Book of 1 Corinthians chapter 10.

Now, I’ll tell you – 1st Corinthians chapter 10, it has a whole lot to say about a whole lot of things. And we’re going to spend some time talking about these principles. The very title to this message today – And that Rock was Christ.

Verse 1 – “Moreover, brethren, I do not want you to be [ignorant] that all our fathers were under the cloud, all passed through the sea.”

The Apostle Paul is talking about the children of Israel, as they were in the process of escaping Egypt, with the Pharaoh's heart being hardened, deciding to send his military to slaughter the people he had already agreed to release. Well, the LORD God protected the children of Israel, making their way through a portion of the Red Sea by a divine miracle where the LORD God – the LORD God being the family of God; which at this time consists of God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ – to literally divide the waters, to dry out the land, allowing them to walk from one side of the shore to the other. And, as the Pharaoh's military was chasing after them, the LORD God allowed the Red Sea to collapse in on this Pharaoh and his military, destroying them! “I do not want you to be ignorant that all our fathers were under the cloud, all passed through the sea.”

So, think about this: they had a fine misty spray of water above them (a cloud), and they had a wall of water on both sides of them. It was a type of baptism. Now, in today’s era of time, if a prospective Christian wants to be under the protective covering of God Almighty and Jesus Christ, he or she goes through a process of a baptism. Where they go into a watery grave. And they are brought up out of the water, a prayer is said over them that they might receive the Spirit of God. But, back in the time of the children of Israel, they walked through the water, with a fine mist hovering over them.

Verse 2 – “all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea.”

Now, they didn’t know about Jesus Christ at that time. Even though it was the One we now know of as Jesus Christ that was providing all the miracles!

Verse 3 – “all ate the same spiritual food, 4) and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them, …”

And we add editorially, “and protected them.” “ … and that Rock was Christ.”

Verse 5 – “But with most of them God was not well pleased, …”

To say the least. The children of Israel were hardheaded, stubborn, proud, and not very humble. Also, not very receptive to the LORD God’s message. And, the children of Israel caused the Prophet Moses, and the LORD God Themselves many great distressing moments!

“ … for their bodies were scattered in the wilderness.”

They had to go through a lot of difficult trials because they simply did not believe the LORD God! They would not follow the LORD God. They were just foreheads of stone. Their hearts were hard.

Verse 6 – “Now these things became our examples, to the intent that we should not lust after evil things as they also lusted.”

So, the things that happened to the children of Israel – they happened and they were recorded in the living word of God – so that we today might learn from their very serious mistakes!

Verse 7 – “And do not become IDOLATERS as were some of them. As it is written, ‘The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.’

So, idolaters.

Friends, if you are following a false religion, you are practicing a very serious form of spiritual adultery. Or, having a false idol. A lot of people in this world today have a form of godliness – but it’s not after the intent and teachings of God’s living word. Even people who place the label Christian on their religion. And even people who happen to say occasionally the name Jesus Christ. Still do not follow the practices that are put forth in the living word of God. And, a lot of religions simply have come up with human traditions and sort of make-believe that they are God’s traditions – when in fact they are not! We can certainly give multiple parts on this subject alone!

Just very quickly: A lot of people who go to church in the Western world call Sunday their church day! And, this is not the LORD God’s idea. That’s a human idea. It began towards the end of the Roman Empire!

In historical truth, it was the Roman Emperor Constantine I who institutionalized Sunday as the day of worship for the Roman Catholic Church, and this occurred in the early fourth century A.D. Almost three- hundred years after the life and death – the human life and death – of Jesus Christ. The Roman Catholic Church and Constantine I changed Saturday into Sunday. And called SUN-day the holy day. And again, the Protestant world has no clue that that happened. They’re not aware of it, they’re not cognizant, it doesn’t penetrate their minds what that means. And, we would challenge you to go to your favorite search engine and type in “the origin of Sunday worship.” Do that. I’ll wait.

You will find out that it wasn’t instituted by the LORD God, but rather it was instituted by a Roman Emperor Constantine the Great. He was the one that changed all that! And then the so-called Christian church of that day in order to protect their lives and their power they went along with what the emperor said. And so these some 1,702 years later we still have this concept that Sunday is the day of worship. But, that’s not true – that’s a human idea.

We can also easily mention Christmas – the mass of Christ. That too is not from God’s living word. That’s from human tradition.

We could also easily mention Easter. That too is not a biblically based “holy time.” It more properly should be called the Passover.

And we could just go on and on about ideas, concepts, and doctrines – all of which oppose the teachings of God’s living word.

Now, you can not be a part of the LORD God, and oppose Their teachings! You can certainly deceive yourself and make-believe, saying, “Well, I’m of God, even though I’m teaching human traditions!” You can deceive yourself all you want – but it doesn’t fool the LORD God!

Returning again to the living word of the Eternal One – “And do not become idolaters.”

Now, there’s a newspaper article that I have in front of me, an article written by Cal Thomas – a well-known conservative writer and thinker. The headline reads, Can America Survive When Our Nations Foundations Are Destroyed?

And, within the article, he wrote, “Politicians become a god substitute, and politics their religion.”

And, he is dead on when he wrote that! We have people today who would rather roll up their sleeves and get excited about politics as opposed to religion. I even dare say – modern-day politics is like watching sports. People will get all involved with their team. They are a New York Yankees diehard fans. Or, they’re a Cleveland Brown football fan – or whatever team. And they have their paraphernalia, and they have their house all decked out. People love to put their sports teams out front! And, we’re not saying that there is anything wrong with that, however, when your sports team becomes everything in your life, you obviously are not following the LORD God. Allow it to be an interest – but not the main focus of your life! Sadly, people do it with sports and they do it with politics. And, all of it is a form of idolatry! We remind you again: the very first commandment – “’ You shall have no other gods before Me.’” And this is the overriding commandment, the foundational commandment! And it is possible – in a human life – to have a lot of things more important to you that the LORD God. Many people spend decades of their life pursuing their careers, or their level of income. And that means more to them than the LORD God. There are some people who make family into a godlike structure. It’s great to love and have your family but always keep the LORD God more important to you. And we could just go through a whole host of things. Some people will buy a new car – I used to have a neighbor across the culdesac, about three or four times a week, he would wash his car and then wax it – and it was almost as if he was bowing down to it! He was that obsessed with his car. Well, if his car can grant him eternal life – more power to him. But, obviously, his car can’t do that!

Verse 8 – “Nor let us commit sexual immorality [fornication; in Greek, porneuō], as some of them did, and in one day twenty-three thousand fell.”

Now, there is an idea – a concept, of physical fornication. Most adults certainly know about this. There is also an idea – a concept – that most people don’t think about. Religious fornication. Religious adultery.

Anytime you put a religious idea or concept before the LORD God you are committing spiritual adultery – spiritual fornication. And this is a concept most people don’t think about.

Let’s go back to verse 4 – “and that Rock was Christ.”

Build Upon the Rock

Now, turning in your Bible, let’s turn to the Book of Matthew chapter 7.

There is a very interesting account that our Lord Jesus gave. We have referred to it before – a very important foundational Scripture! One in which you need to inculcate the lesson of this parable into your heart and mind, and to always dwell upon it. This is IMPORTANT here!

Matthew 7:24 – “’ Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise [person] who built his house on the rock.’”

Again, the analogy – that Rock is Jesus Christ!

Verse 25 – “’ and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, …’” – because – “ … ‘for it was founded on the rock.’”

Notice the following verse –

Verse 26 – “’ But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and DOES NOT DO THEM, will be like a foolish [person] who built his house on the sand: 27) and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.’”

So, you can either build your life upon the Rock of Jesus Christ and be solid – and you will be able to withstand all of the temptations and pressures of this present evil age. The possible destructive agents. Or, if you build your life upon sand – the ideas and principles that are not of the LORD God, nor belong to the LORD God – sooner or later your life will be swept away. Your life will be turned upside down. A very powerful lesson here!

Let us also notice the Book of John chapter 1.

Verse 1 – “In the beginning was the Word, …” – in the Koine Greek that’s the word Logos. “ … and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2) He was in the beginning with God. 3) All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.”

Verse 4 – “In Him was life [eternal life], and the life was the light of men. 5) And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.”

Verse 6 – “There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7) This man came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all through him might believe. 8) He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. 9) That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world.”

Verse 10 – “He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him.”

He is speaking of Jesus Christ. The Word, the Logos. And it says here, “and the world was made” by the One we now call Jesus Christ. In the Old Testament, He had different names. But, in the New Testament, we call Him Jesus the Messiah, Jesus the Christos. Jesus Christ.

Verse 11 – “He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. 12) But as many as receive Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to THOSE WHO BELIEVE [ON] HIS NAME.”

So, those who believe on His name. The name Jesus Christ is very powerful! It’s not to be abused or misused. And it’s certainly not to be ignored.

Verse 13 – “who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”

Verse 14 – “And the Word became flesh and dwelt [or, tabernacled; one of the meanings of the Feast of Tabernacles] among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.”

Our Lord Jesus Christ came – as a human being – to live in this world that He might make eternal life possible for us.

Verse 15 – “John bore witness of Him and cried out, saying, ‘This was He of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me is preferred before me, for He was before me.’”

Verse 16 – “And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. 17) For the law [the Old Covenant] was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.”

Now, the very first sermon of the era of the Owensboro Church of Jesus Christ – first delivered down in Tyler, Texas. The sermon was entitled “Look to Jesus Not Moses.”

Friends, when this sermon came together – when I was home putting the notes together – I knew, and I knew that I knew, that I was being directed to give a sermon that Jesus Christ wanted me to give. And to the best of my ability, I delivered that sermon. But, that message offended the two leaders of that organization! It got them all twisted up inside. They just couldn’t stand that message. And, this continues to puzzle us, after all this decade. Well, this message was never published by that organization. But a few months later I redid that sermon. And this sermon is still up on our websites – www.owensborochurchofjesuschrist.com, as well as www.owensborocojc.com.

Do Not Cease Praying For Our Brethren

Well, turning now to the Book of Colossians chapter 1.

Beginning in verse 9 – “For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding.”

This should be something all of us should want! To have the LORD God’s will and wisdom and spiritual understanding overflowing within us.

Verse 10 – “that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.”

So, this is another good goal. We should all want this.

Verse 11 – “strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy.”

So, here’s another thing that we should all seek.

There’s a wonderful song by the artist So Hyang called Everyone. And, how many times she talks about joy – “that I am your source of joy.” We should have joy in our life. That’s what is meant to be.

And if you don’t have joy in your life, maybe you need to ask yourself – what do I need to change!? What am I not doing that maybe I should be doing!? Ask that to the LORD God – earnestly.

Verse 12 – “giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light.”

Giving thanks unto the Father who has made us partakers of the eternal inheritance. This is another wonderful thing we should all want.

Well, everything here in chapter 1 of the Book of Colossians is things of which we should think about, and hope and pray could become a part of our spiritual lives.

Verse 13 – “He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us [or, changed us] into the kingdom of the Son of His love.”

Verse 14 – “in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.”

Here’s another powerful concept! And all of us should be very cognizant that we have a Savior – that this being who allowed Himself to be divested of His eternal greatness, who allowed Himself to be changed into a human sperm cell, who became a fetus inside the womb of Mary, eventually born and eventually grew up – that we have this Savior! Who allowed Himself to be tortured to death! He could have stopped it! He didn’t!

And, in being this great sacrifice, we now have a place where we can go to ask that our sins can be forgiven. And, this is a wonderful thing!

Now, again – who is this being we’re talking about!? Jesus Christ!

Verse 15 – “He is the image of the invisible God, …”

Now, no human being has seen God the Father. Some human beings were allowed to see the One we now know as Jesus Christ – in the Old Testament. Also, when the Word became a human being. His disciples were allowed to get to know Him. And then after His resurrection, He made some more personal appearances with His followers.

And, the Apostle Paul tells us that he had many occasions where he was being taught by Jesus Christ in the deserts of Arabia.

“ … the firstborn over all [creatures].”

Verse 16 – “For by Him all things were created …”

Just, look around you. EVERYTHING that is important to you in your life, was created and established by the One we now call Jesus Christ!

AND THAT ROCK WAS CHRIST!

“ … that are in heaven …”

Speaking about the bodies within the cosmos. All the stars, planets, asteroids and meteors, the moons, the galaxies, the solar systems. All were made by the One we call Jesus Christ!

“ … and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through [Jesus Christ] and for [Jesus Christ].”

Verse 17 – “And He is BEFORE all things, …”

He has the highest status of all things and of all people.

“ … and in Him all things consist.”

Now, we can’t prove this – but, we have a strong suspicion that someday we will discover that if you took a single atom ─ the center of an atom is the atomic nucleus, which consists of protons and neutrons surrounded by a cloud of electrons ─ that the elementary basic building block of all matter is indeed the Spirit of God! Now, if this is true, read this verse again –

“And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.”

The very essence of who we are is dependent upon the existence of Jesus Christ!

That if it were possible – and it’s not – that if Jesus Christ could somehow be extinguished from existence, that at the very same moment, everything else in the universe would simply stop being! Because “and IN HIM ALL THINGS CONSIST.” Now, we are willing to put this forth as a theory. We can’t prove that it’s true. Do we suspect it – yes we do!

AND THAT ROCK WAS CHRIST!

Notice what the Apostle Paul says in verse 18 – “And He [Jesus Christ] is the head of the body, the church, …”

Now, some people have asked us over the years – why did you choose the name the Owensboro Church of Jesus Christ!? And for that matter – the Church of Jesus Christ Online Ministries!? Because there are other people who fill the absolute need to somehow phrase “Church of God” in their name. Well, the answer is because Jesus Christ is the Head of the church. It’s that simple. Jesus Christ is the foundation of what we are. He is the reason that we exist. And His desires are the main purposes of what we want to do.

IT'S ALL ABOUT JESUS CHRIST!

And if you don’t know that or are willing to acknowledge that, you’re missing out on a major part of the story. And, we’re not talking about some syrupy version you might hear in some Protestant church – we’re speaking about an IN REALITY! In plain simple fact – Jesus Christ is the basis of everything! And serving Him should be the purpose of our lives. That is why we exist. And, that is why we have been called into the living Word of God, Truth of God, and Plan of God! To serve Him!

And, God willing, we will have the opportunity to serve the human beings that He was responsible for creating. Serving, helping, teaching, mentoring, and coaching them!

The Firstborn From the Dead

Continuing in verse 18 – “ … who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, …”

What’s the implication here!? There are more to come!

And those future beings, which will become eternal members of the family of God, are people like you and me and millions upon millions throughout eons. And this should be exciting to you!

In the very understanding of Jesus Christ – and one of His titles is “the Firstborn from the dead” – is the promise of eternal life! An actual PROMISE! Not some wistful hope.

Now, we have heard people from other religions say – and most times you hear this at a funeral – “Well, I hope that he’s up in heaven!” To be quite honest, we don’t think that they really believe it! A lot of them don’t really believe what they’re saying. They’re saying it because that’s what they’re supposed to say.

But friends, we’re putting forth a Jesus Christ that is “the Firstborn from the dead”! And you and I, and all of us, have the opportunity to be a part of that plan!

“ … that in all things He may have [and will ever have, and forever have] the preeminence.”

Our Lord Jesus Christ will always have preeminence over everyone! But everyone has a chance to become His born brothers and sisters! That’s our hope. And, this is what we should be thinking about on a daily basis. And, if you don’t think of this on a daily basis – we think you’re cheating yourselves.

Say to yourself – “I’m living under the power of Jesus Christ, and one day I will be an eternal being in the family of God for all eternity!” That should give a little lift to your spirit!

Verse 19 – “For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, 20) and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven [the atmosphere], having made peace through the blood of His cross.”

And brethren – the Apostle Paul is speaking to you and me!

Verse 21 – “And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled.

He has given us access to the power of God! And this is a gift all of us have access to, if we will simply claim it.

Verse 22 – “in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight.”

And the very next verse has the phrase – “are not moved away from the hope of the gospel.”

Sadly, a lot of people hear the word gospel, and most think it means a genre of music. But the gospel is the good news that we have a Savior, and that because of this Savior, we have access to eternal life. To the forgiveness of sin and to someday be granted eternal life.

Let’s move along to the Book of Hebrews chapter 1.

Verse 1 - “God [the Greek word being Theos, meaning God the Father], who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets.”

Verse 2 – “has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, …”

AND THAT ROCK WAS CHRIST!

“ … whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds.”

Once again, Jesus Christ was the Creator of everything that exists – from the red giant star Betelgeuse, to in this room, to right outside your home!
Verse 3 – “who being the brightness of His [God the Father’s] glory …” – truly meaning that They are both on the same level. They are both bonafide members of the family of God. “ … and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.”

So, do you get the feeling that our Heavenly Father thinks that His Son Jesus Christ is VERY IMPORTANT!? This is what we perceive. Because our Lord Jesus Christ really is VERY IMPORTANT!

And then the Apostle Paul continues with some thoughts about angels.

Also in the Book of Hebrews the Apostle Paul adds, “Now consider how great this [M]an was”! Well, He’s everything!

Now, if you would, turn to the Book of Romans chapter 11.

Verse 36 – “For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen.”

That is that ROCK that helped the children of Israel escape the land of Egypt. And, that is that ROCK upon whom our spiritual house should be built. Because if it is we will never die.

We, as a society, just don’t stop and think enough about Jesus Christ and His greatness!

The Unsearchable Riches of Christ

Now, if you would, turn to the Book of Ephesians chapter 3.

Verse 7 – the Apostle Paul says, “of which I became a minister according to the gift of the grace of God given to me by the effective working of His power.”

Verse 8 – “To me, who am less than the least of all the saints, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ.”

So, if we were to say to someone – if you were to take a shovel and go into your backyard and begin digging in the dirt, you’ll find gold! And let’s say that this is true. Your whole neighborhood would be fighting each other trying to get to the gold. Because there is so much gold buried on your property, it would be “unsearchable riches”! Well, we don’t think there’s any gold in your backyard – except maybe in Fort Knox, Kentucky.

But, let us notice this phrase again – “that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ.”

Now, you may or may not find gold. But all of us – if we go to Almighty God and our Lord Jesus Christ in prayer, and humbly seek Their help and assistance, we can all have access to the unsearchable riches of Jesus Christ!

Verse 9 – “and to make all see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God who created all things THROUGH Jesus Christ.”

Once again we hear this! How many times have we read this in just these few passages!? Jesus Christ created everything!

Do we owe Him some honor!? Yes, we do!

Do we owe Him some respect!? Yes, we do!

And yet there are people who cannot do that. And we don’t understand it. If you’re ashamed of Jesus Christ, and won’t even say His name, you are devoid of spiritual wisdom. Without any hope of attaining eternal life. Why would you follow such a person!?

Again, if you will, turn to the Book of John chapter 20.

Verse 31 – “but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the [Messiah], the Son of God, and that believing you may have life [through] His name.”

That your life in the present might be more happy and joyful, more pleasing, and more satisfying. But, more importantly, that you might have access to eternal life.

If you’re going to have eternal life you must have great respect for the name Jesus Christ!

Notice the Book of Acts chapter 2.

Verse 21 – “’ And it shall come to pass That whoever calls on the name of the LORD Shall be saved.’”

Also, notice the following verse –

“’ Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a Man [approved] by God to you …”

Demonstrating that Almighty God approved Him.

“ … by miracles, wonders, and signs which God did through Him in your midst, as you yourselves also know ─”

This is the Jesus Christ we are speaking about!

Only One Name Under Heaven

Acts 4 chapter 12 – “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

You cannot use the name Alleh ( الر ب ) and expect to have eternal life.

You cannot show respect and use the name the Buddha (बुध्) and expect to have eternal life.

You cannot hold, in an almost worshipful stance, some politician. And for some people, it might be the little cheerleader, RAH, RAH, REE, KICK ‘em in the KNEE! - Alexandria Ocasio-Cortex. Or, Ilhan Abdullahi Omar. And for others, it might be Bernie Sanders.

If you think that Bernie Sanders can give you eternal life, then you’re confused beyond any stretch of the imagination!

There’s only one name under the whole panoply of the sky, the stars, the universe – one name on earth, whereby you can have eternal life! And that name is the name JESUS CHRIST!

That is how important He is! That is how great this being truly is!

Notice the Book of Mark chapter 8.

We have referred to this verse throughout the last three or four years. Because it is that important. We should always consider the implication.

Verse 38 – “’ For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.’”

And, real quick – that last sentence, Jesus Christ is returning with God the Father! This is one verse that gives you a direct indication.

But, notice the first part of this sentence – if you are ashamed of Jesus Christ and of His words, He will be ashamed of you.

And this comes from the mouth of Jesus Christ, who is the great Judge, and future King of kings and Lord of lords. He says the very same thing in Luke 9:26.

Why would you ever want to be in opposition to this statement!? We do not understand! And also, why would you want to be taught by someone that has this mindset!? That’s even more difficult for us to understand.

Are you smart enough to understand this? Or, are you going to have some human being bamboozle you and cause you to lose out on eternal life!? This is the question we ask to you who are listening.

Notice the Book of Matthew chapter 10.

Again, these are the words of Jesus Christ.

Verse 33 – “’ But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven.’”

So, if you deny Jesus Christ you will be denied. If you’re ashamed of Jesus Christ, He will be ashamed of you. This is what God’s living word says – this is what our Lord Jesus Christ says.

If you would, turn to the Book of 2nd Timothy chapter 2.

Verse 12 – “If we endure, We shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us.”

This is a very consistent principle that is put forth in the living word of God.

Let’s turn to the Book of Jude.

So, we’ve had our Lord Jesus Christ speak. We’ve had the Apostle Paul speak. Now, let’s hear the Apostle Jude. He was a physical brother to our Lord Jesus.

Verse 4 – “For certain men have crept in unnoticed, …”

They have crept in secretly – their true identity is not fully known.

“ … who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, who turn the grace of God into lewdness and deny the only Lord God [God the Father] and our Lord Jesus Christ.”

So, the Apostle Jude speaks of the same principle.

Now friends, when all of these writers of God’s living word are saying the same thing it must be true! Either that or you don’t believe Almighty God. Now, if you don’t believe Almighty God, then we don’t know why you are listening to us. Because everything we talk about here is based upon the living Word of God, the Truth of God, and the Plan of God. And, our goal and our mission is to feed the sheep, and the potential sheep of Jesus Christ. We’re trying to help you.

Finally, let’s turn to the Book of 2nd Peter chapter 2.

Verse 1 – “But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. 2) And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed. 3) By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; …”

Again, we ask - why would you want to be taught by someone that has this mindset!? □
